I have been reading Manny's rants and raves for some time and look forward to reading the book in its entirety - FANTASTIC
For people who don't have the time to figure out why the Tea Baggers are so crazy, there's this book. It's short, it's cited and it's a little funny. You can probably read it in a week. I highly recommend it!
AWESOME!!!!! Really good outlook on some current issues with our country. I thought it was fresh and entertaining
Page 24 Inverting "you can do anything if you try hard enough" made for a huge internal discussion with my own ideas.
I thought the first quote on the book was genius. Will be needing more copies for Christmas presents.
But uhm seriously, what are you doing wasting time reading this? Hurry go order your copy before they run out.........
Once I started this book I couldn't put it down. It does two things, educates and entertains. While being thoughtfully written it appeals to the working stiff as well as the educator. I believe Reverend Manny is one of the best authors I've read. I often find myself quoting from the book as well as directing my friends to get it. A great reference too.
Hustlers and the Idiot Swarm is a little book with monumental concerns, an unpretentious philosophical survey of what's gone wrong and why and what we all stand to lose if things don't change.
this book is, and at times screams, great writing. you can tell by the bibliography
that a lot of research went into it. in describing the state we're in, it also paints
a lot of the backstory of how things got to be this way. i had no idea of the twisted
relationship between money and religion, and how poverty was / is seen as a sin. these
are things that need to be told, and told they are in this piece from the reverend.
From the first chapter, you can tell that the author knows what he's talking about. Extensive research, smart quotations. This book exposes what smart people already know, that the rich get richer, the poor get poorer and it won't change if... you won't act. Two thumbs up to Rev Manny for a book that is nicely written, easy to follow and can open your eyes on what's wrong with America (and what was wrong in the past). Definitely a must read. Working class, stand up!
